Aims & Scope

Aims:

The Membrane Technologies Research (MTR) aims to be the preferred platform for disseminating cutting-edge research in the field of membrane technologies. With a focus on both fundamental studies and practical applications, MTR aims at fostering interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, engineers, and practitioners worldwide. By providing a comprehensive forum, the journal aims to accelerate innovation and address critical challenges in membrane technology.

Scope:

MTR welcomes original research articles, reviews, and perspective articles covering a wide spectrum of topics related to membrane technologies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Membrane Materials: Synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of inorganic, polymeric, and bio-inspired membranes.
  • Membrane Processes: Development and optimization of membrane separation and purification, membrane reactors and bio-reactors.
  • Membrane Applications: Exploration of membrane technologies in gas separation, water treatment, desalination, wastewater reuse, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and energy conversion.
  • Membrane Systems: Design, modeling, simulation, and scale-up of membrane-based systems for various industrial, environmental, and biomedical applications.
  • Membrane-Based Innovations: Integration of membranes with advanced materials, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence for enhanced performance and novel applications.
  • Membrane Sustainability: Assessment of environmental impact, energy efficiency, and economic viability of membrane processes, as well as development of eco-friendly and recyclable membrane materials.

MTR encourages contributions that advance fundamental understanding, propose innovative solutions, and demonstrate practical relevance to real-world challenges.
