Dear Colleagues,

It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce the inaugural issue of the International Journal of Transportation and Logistics Research (IJTLR), a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fostering innovative, interdisciplinary, and impactful research in transportation and logistics. As global supply chains and mobility systems face increasing complexity and unprecedented challenges, this journal aims to provide a premier platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, collaborate across disciplines, and drive forward new solutions.

1. Aims and Scope: Addressing Key Challenges in Transportation and Logistics

IJTLR is committed to advancing research that pushes the boundaries of knowledge by integrating diverse perspectives from engineering, behavioral sciences, psychology, management, policy studies, and environmental science. We encourage submissions that explore the intricate relationships between human behavior, decision-making, organizational management, technological innovations, and policy implications in transportation systems and logistics networks.

By promoting a global dialogue on cutting-edge research, IJTLR seeks to contribute to the development of sustainable, efficient, and innovative solutions that enhance the resilience, adaptability, and performance of transportation and logistics systems while addressing societal and environmental concerns.

The scope of IJTLR spans a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Freight Transport and Logistics:Optimising supply chains, logistics management, and freight transportation efficiency.
  • Sustainable Transport: Developing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
  • Transportation Planning and Policy: Examining infrastructure development, regulatory frameworks, and urban mobility strategies.
  • Behavioral and Psychological Studies: Understanding decision-making, travel behavior modelling, and consumer attitudes.
  • Management and Organizational Studies: Enhancing efficiency and leadership in logistics and transportation sectors.
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS): Leveraging smart technologies, artificial intelligence, and digitalisation to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Transportation Safety and Security: Addressing risk assessment, safety protocols, and resilience against disruptions.
  • Transport Economics and Finance: Evaluating economic impacts, financial modelling, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Environmental and Social Impacts: Exploring sustainability strategies and societal consequences of transportation activities.
  • Policy Studies: Investigating governance, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable policy interventions.
  • Maritime and Port Logistics: Assessing port operations, shipping logistics, and their role in global trade networks.

By embracing these multidisciplinary research areas, IJTLR seeks to bridge the gap between theory, practice, and policy, fostering a rich exchange of ideas to shape the future of transportation and logistics.

2. Commitment to Excellence

As an academic journal, IJTLR upholds rigorous peer-review standards to ensure the publication of high-quality research that is both impactful and methodologically sound. Our editorial team is committed to providing constructive feedback to authors, facilitating the refinement of research contributions, and maintaining an efficient review process.

3. Open Access and Global Reach

Recognising the importance of unrestricted access to research, IJTLR is fully open access, ensuring that scholars, industry professionals, and policymakers worldwide can benefit from and contribute to the latest advancements in transportation and logistics. This approach enhances visibility, fosters collaboration, and accelerates the application of research insights in practice.

4. Invitation to Contribute

We invite researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to contribute to IJTLR by submitting original research articles, review papers, case studies, and technical notes. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the discourse on transportation and logistics and in advancing solutions to contemporary challenges.

Acknowledgments

We extend our sincere gratitude to the esteemed members of our editorial board, dedicated reviewers, and authors whose work has made this inaugural issue possible. Your expertise and commitment are invaluable in driving the journal’s mission forward.
